The Indiana Department of Insurance listed 47 homeowners insurers with at least one complaint in 2025, 260 complaints in all. Lowest index first.
How to read the Indiana complaint index
The Indiana Department of Insurance divides a company's share of complaints by its share of Indiana premiums for the line. 1.00 is average, below 1 means fewer complaints than its size would suggest. Indiana lists only companies with at least one complaint and does not calculate an index (marked DNC) for companies with under $1 million of premiums.
Company names are expanded from Indiana's abbreviations or taken from other regulators' records. DNC means Indiana did not calculate an index. None reported means no premium was reported to Indiana for that year.
Checked 29 October 2026. Complaint records show only complaints filed with the regulator. They are one signal among many and do not rate claims handling, price or financial strength.
